The Linthicum Veterans Memorial groundbreaking ceremony was held Nov. 8, 2008 during Linthicum's Centennial Year. The ceremony was a well attended event on a mild fall day, and it officially set the wheels in motion for construction. The next year the Anne Arundel County delegation secured funding for the memorial through a bond bill.
